Deputy Director / Director of Programs

The Bronx is Blooming is seeking a mission-driven and experienced Deputy Director / Director of Programs to lead the strategic growth, implementation, and evaluation of our core programs while overseeing critical operational and administrative functions. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Deputy Director will supervise all program and administrative staff, guide cross-organizational systems, and ensure strong alignment between programming, budget, and strategic goals.

Environmental Program Coordinator (Seasonal)

The Environmental Program Coordinator (EPC) will support the Environmental Program Manager to plan and coordinate stewardship events and run The Bronx is Blooming’s Environmental program. The EPC will be tasked with creating event schedules, seasonal volunteer goals, and community outreach programming in each of The Bronx is Blooming’s greenspaces. Their goal will be to educate students and volunteers about the benefits of local native species, the detrimental effects of invasive species, and the various methods local environmentalists can use to create more accessible and biodiverse green spaces. The EPC will work in our various locations to ensure the execution of quality stewardship events and support community organizing in Bronx parks. The EPC will also help to manage The Bronx is Blooming’s plant and tool inventory and ensure accurate reporting of tool use, maintenance, and damage. 

Environmental Program Manager

The Environmental Program Manager (EPM) oversees all of The Bronx is Blooming’s programming. This includes the community volunteer program, the horticulture program, and the corporate service program, as well as advocacy surrounding environmental issues in The Bronx. This position also trains and manages staff, interns, summer youth, and AmeriCorps members in horticulture and stewardship work, highlighting plant identification, pruning, removing invasive species, planting, and general garden maintenance of the 40+ gardens planted/maintained by The Bronx is Blooming. The EPM oversees tool inventory and transport, data management, reporting, and staff schedules, as well as other duties as assigned by the director. 

Program Development & Communications Associate

The Program Development & Communications Associate will play a critical role in strengthening The Bronx is Blooming programs, partnerships, and communications. This individual will be responsible for grant reporting and management, collecting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative program data, and developing compelling communications to engage donors, volunteers, and partners. They will work closely with the Program Managers and Executive Director to strategically highlight our work, optimize reporting systems, and build relationships that support fundraising and program growth.
